Synopsis

On the verge of demolition, the former U.S. military camptowns of northern Gyeonggi Province echo with the distant sounds of artillery fire and combat helicopters. The camera descends through a forest crowded with nameless—or barely named—graves into the ruins of a ghostly landscape. The memories of three women return through different forms: testimony before the camera, spoken letters and drawings, and a body wandering through the spaces of the past like a ghost. As different temporal layers begin to unfold, Tour of Duty sets out on a journey of duty through a historical landscape long kept out of sight.
